Once again in 2010 the historic Columbus Irons Works Convention & Trade Center will be the host location for the 5th Annual AGCP Roundtable Education Conference and Convention for clubfitters and clubmakers from around the world.

In 2009 Clubfitters and Sponsors alike were highly complementary of this beautiful historic facility and the Convention was by all accounts a huge success. So much so that a few weeks after RT-4 the demand to reserve space for RT-5 has all but filled the agenda for our sponsors to speak to the members. RT-4 had only 3 Speaking opportunities for our sponsors and we had so much demand we increased this to 9 opportunities for RT-5 and 8 of the nine were reserved by the first week in November.

AGCP members and sponsors alike were so impressed with the Marriott Hotel across the street from the Irons Works that many had made reservations even before we were able to reserve space for them under the AGCP name.

We had a record number of members in attendance in 2009 with nearly 50% of our membership registering for RT-4, and we added a half dozen new members during the event from those who came to see the sponsor’s exhibits. We also had a record number of sponsors on hand again for RT-4 and expect many more for RT-5. We have reserved over twice the space for RT-5 and will have nearly 3 times as many classes for RT.

Register early for RT-5 as the hotel rooms disappear quickly as we get later into the year. The Irons Works is a busy convention center and has several conventions going on at the same time so rooms get scarce.

We have a lot of wives coming to RT5. E-mail Mick Howe and he will give you the contact inforation so you can contact other couples about special events planned by the members for the evenings, and day time activities for wives who do not attend classes.

RT5 Schedule - last update - August 26, 2010*

Tom WishonOur Keynote Speaker this year is Tom Wishon of Tom Wishon Golf Technologies, Inc.
Since 1987, Tom Wishon has been recognized as one of the leading designers of clubheads in the world. His clubhead designs have represented over 50 different industry design firsts, including the first heel weighted/draw biased metal wood, the first metal wood to exceed 350cc volume, the first metal woods with “cup-face” construction, and the first metal woods designed with a draw bias internal weighting.

Tom’s clubhead designs are particularly well known for the use of cutting edge materials formed by innovative production techniques, often combining different methods of manufacture on the same model. TWGT clubheads are manufactured to the tightest tolerances in the world, in large part because Tom has taught the foundries’ QC managers precisely how to measure all specifications on clubheads. In total, Tom has designed more than 200 different, original clubhead models which have accounted for more than 10 million golf clubs built for golfers.

Tom still remains the only designer from the custom clubmaking industry whose original clubhead designs have been used to win on the PGA Tour, Champions Tour and in Ryder Cup competition.

In addition, no one has performed more in-depth research related to clubfitting and published more about the performance of golf clubs than any person in the history of the game to the point that some refer to Tom Wishon as the most knowledgeable person about golf clubs in the world.  In his RT-5 Keynote Address, Tom will offer AGCP members “A Synopsis of What I’ve Learned Over Four Decades in the Golf Equipment Industry.”  Tom will share a myriad of interesting points from his 30+ years of experience of his career with golf equipment and in the business of golf which will range from the highly technical to the slightly controversial – a collection of points learned from Tom’s wide ranging career which are related to club design, clubfitting research and the business and politics of the golf industry.
