Welcome PCS Members

The AGCP extends a welcome to all PCS members

If you are a PCS member you are no more disappointed than I am at the failure of the PCS to survive. I paid my dues early to help save the PCS and I had hopes for a better future too. I am writing this because I am getting E-mails from PCS members asking about the AGCP. I am a one man operation and I do not have a staff so it is almost impossible for me to answer each of you individually. I will attempt to clear up a few misconceptions and offer you the answers to the most common questions I am getting from you.

First:
Contrary to anything you may have heard through the grapevine or from a 3rd party I have never been a competitor of the PCS nor have I been an enemy of the PCS. Throughout the history of the AGCP we have had PCS BOD members as AGCP members. They had no problem being members of both organizations. Logic might dictate that if they could be in both so could anyone else. The AGCP membership consists of about 99% PCS members and always has. They paid dues in both organizations. Again logic dictates that if almost all of the AGCP members are also PCS members and have dual memberships they must not see the AGCP as an enemy of the PCS. I even noticed on the PCS Forum during the last month the majority of members who posted that they sent money to help finance the PCS were AGCP members.

To the point:
The truth is, the AGCP has always been and remains today a different kind of organization than the PCS. Where the PCS tried to be all things to all clubmakers, the AGCP has a clear cut purpose. That purpose is to help any clubmaker who wants success to be able to achieve success. The purpose of the AGCP, you might say, is to share knowledge and help all members be as good at fitting, building and making profits as the very best in the organization. We do this through and ongoing exchange of ideas on our members only Email list and through our Annual Roundtable Educational Conference in Columbus, Georgia. Our presenters are some of the World’s Greatest fitters, builders and businessmen in the industry. People like Jerry Hoefling, Keith Chatham, Dana Upshaw, Bill Kelly, Tom Spargo, Bob Ubelhor, and others have made presentations at our Roundtables. They share with you the ideas, the techniques and the know how that make them the best.

It doesn’t matter to us if you call yourself a hobbyist, a part timer, a home based business, a retail business, or a store front business. If you are passionate about fitting, building and making profit from your efforts, you can learn in the AGCP and become better at what you do. However, if you want to join simply to get discounts for the 2 or 3 sets of clubs you make each year for you and your friends, this may not be where you want to invest your money. We are not a social club, we are a businessmen’s club with a serious purpose. Only if you want to learn and become a good businessman should you join. We not only discuss fitting and building, we discuss operating ratios, profit margins, selling techniques, marketing techniques and advertising techniques. We are about the business of fitting, and building, not the hobby. This doesn’t mean a hobbyist can’t join, we simply do not want you having the wrong expectations when you join. You will learn plenty but you can’t get your dues back on discounts for your personal set of clubs.

If you want to kibitz, discuss how the AGCP is operated, offer your opinions about how the AGCP is managed, tell jokes, discuss politics, or offer anything other then information about fitting, building and making profit in your business you are probably not going to want to join. We are not a place to chit chat, we are a peer group business organization dedicated to a one for all, all for one approach to making all members as good as the best members.

There are no dumb questions in our discussions as long as they relate to our purpose and you need the answer to the question to help you. We all started knowing nothing and we all got to where we are by asking questions and seeking answers. In the AGCP we are fortunate to have some of the very best in the world to give us answers to our questions.

So, if you want to learn and you want to share what you know and teach others and the above seems like a place you want to be: click on this sentence and join the AGCP.

We are proud to have you.
